It doesn't pay to try, All the smart boys know why, It doesn't mean I didn't try, I just never know why.

Always loved this tune. Wistful and full of regret.

My Top 10 Albums of All-Time ~ 10. Johnny Thunders - So Alone (1978) ~ The perfect punk rock album, IMO. Sadness, dejection, frustration, anger, ego, swagger, sex, drugs, pain and loneliness. Johnny wears on his sleeve all these and more, and as is essential to highly emotional artwork, his authenticity not only shows his listeners that he is for real, but it also carries the listeners along with him and makes them feel it for themselves. These songs helped me through my own struggle with a seemingly hopeless addiction: corny as it sounds, I didn't feel so alone with Johnny seemingly suffering alongside me.   5
